What does the daily maintenance of network cabinet include?

Release Time : 2025-04-10
As the core carrier of data center and network communication, the daily maintenance of network cabinet is directly related to the stability and safety of equipment operation. Scientific maintenance strategy can not only extend the life of equipment, but also effectively reduce the failure rate.

Dust accumulation inside the network cabinet will lead to reduced heat dissipation efficiency and even cause equipment short circuit. It is necessary to use a vacuum cleaner or electrostatic brush to clean the inside of the cabinet every week, focusing on cleaning the vents, fan blades and equipment surface. For hard-to-reach corners, compressed air cans can be used for blowing. At the same time, the dust screen needs to be replaced regularly. It is recommended to check it once a quarter. If the dust accumulation on the surface of the dust screen exceeds 50%, it needs to be replaced immediately to avoid blockage and affect air circulation.

During daily inspections, the status of the equipment indicator lights should be observed to confirm that the power, network and business indicators are normal. Use a temperature gun to detect the surface temperature of key equipment (such as switches and servers). If the temperature exceeds 60℃, it is necessary to troubleshoot heat dissipation failures. Check whether all cable connections are firm, focusing on checking the fiber jumpers, power cables and network cable interfaces to avoid signal interruption due to looseness. It is recommended to fully tighten all connections every six months and use a labeling machine to mark the cables for easy troubleshooting.

The heat dissipation efficiency directly affects the stability of the equipment. Check the operation of the cabinet fan every month to confirm that the speed is normal and there is no abnormal sound. For computer rooms with hot and cold aisle isolation design, ensure that the temperature of the cold aisle is maintained at 18-27℃ and the humidity is controlled at 40%-60%. Clean the dust on the fan blades and heat dissipation fins every quarter, and remove the fan for deep cleaning if necessary. For high-density deployment scenarios, it is recommended to add temperature sensors to achieve real-time monitoring and automatic alarm.

Network cabinet power supply abnormality is one of the main reasons for equipment downtime. Check the load rate of the UPS (uninterruptible power supply) daily to ensure that it does not exceed 80% of the rated capacity. Test the battery discharge function every week and record whether the discharge time meets the nominal value. Perform load tests on the PDU (power distribution unit) every six months to confirm that the voltage of each interface is stable within the range of 220V±5%. It is recommended to use intelligent PDU to achieve remote monitoring of current, voltage and power.

Messy cables will hinder air circulation and increase the risk of failure. The internal layout of the cabinet needs to be checked monthly to ensure that the equipment spacing meets the heat dissipation requirements (it is recommended to leave more than 30cm of space in front and behind). Use cable management racks, cable ties and cable troughs to classify and fix cables to avoid cross-entanglement. For new equipment, the wiring path needs to be planned in advance, and the principle of "separation of strong and weak electricity" should be adopted to keep the distance between the power cord and the data cable more than 10cm.

Physical security is the basis of maintenance. It is necessary to check whether the cabinet door lock is intact every day, and key management must follow the principle of two people and two locks. Check the grounding resistance every quarter to ensure that it meets the standard of ≤4Ω. For outdoor cabinets, it is necessary to confirm that the waterproof, lightning protection and rodent prevention measures are effective. It is recommended to install door magnetic switches and video surveillance to realize real-time alarms for illegal opening.

Maintenance work must be based on evidence. It is necessary to establish an equipment ledger to record the equipment model, serial number and maintenance history. After each maintenance, the "Cabinet Inspection Form" needs to be filled out, including parameters such as temperature, humidity, and equipment status. Conduct emergency drills every six months to simulate power outages, fires and other scenarios to verify the feasibility of emergency plans. It is recommended to adopt a digital management platform to realize the electronic storage and intelligent analysis of maintenance records.

The daily maintenance of network cabinets should be based on the principle of "prevention first, prevention and treatment combined", and a long-term maintenance mechanism should be established through the four-dimensional linkage of environmental control, equipment monitoring, system optimization and safety management. Maintenance personnel need to continue to learn new technologies and master intelligent operation and maintenance tools to ensure the stable operation of equipment in a complex and changing network environment.
